About Mortenveld Productions

Mortenveld Productions LLC is an award-winning independent film and video production company based in Madison, New Jersey, founded by Brian C. Mortensen and led in partnership with Georgette Castro.

We create original narrative films, community-focused programming, and independent series that combine professional storytelling with a strong commitment to artists, emerging talent, nonprofits, small businesses, and the communities we serve.

Our work has been recognized by film festivals and audiences in New Jersey and beyond, with productions earning official selections, theatrical screenings, and festival honors. At the same time, Mortenveld Productions remains deeply rooted in its local mission: creating meaningful work, giving people opportunities to develop their skills, and using media to bring attention to stories and organizations that deserve to be seen.

Mortenveld Productions is volunteer-led and largely self-funded. We do not charge community partners or featured businesses for coverage. Instead, we believe professional-quality media can be a powerful way to strengthen communities, support local organizations, promote the arts, and create connections between people who might otherwise never meet.

A major part of our mission is also education and experience. Our productions bring together experienced professionals, volunteers, interns, and student collaborators in a real-world production environment. Team members have the opportunity to work in producing, directing, cinematography, sound, editing, writing, marketing, on-set operations, and other areas of production while contributing to projects that are actually completed, publicly released, screened, and submitted to film festivals.

Under the leadership of Brian Mortensen and Georgette Castro, Mortenveld Productions has grown into more than a production company. It is a collaborative creative community built around the idea that independent filmmaking can produce excellent work while also creating opportunities for others.

Whether we are producing an original film, covering a local organization, highlighting a small business, developing emerging filmmakers, or bringing a new story to the screen, our goal remains the same: to create work that matters, support the people behind it, and help independent voices reach a wider audience.
